These and other questions will be discussed at this year’s Annual Conference on Tech Ecosystems in Frankfurt am Main. The conference marks 50 years of German-Israeli relations. On May 12th, 1965, the two countries established diplomatic relations for the very first time. Since then, Israel and Germany have become partners and even good friends. A great example of this friendship is the active scientific-technical cooperation between the Goethe University of Frankfurt and the Tel Aviv University. Additionally, the Mediterranean and the Hessian metropolis have been connected through city friendships for 35 years.

Frankfurt Rhein-Main is one of the top locations for business in Germany. The region offers a great startup ecosystem, due to its proximity to the financial industry, potential investors, and globally active corporations in industries such as chemical, pharmaceutical, IT&C, etc. Among the top 10 cities in Germany that have the largest amount of business start-ups, 4 of them are in the Frankfurt Rhein-Main region. Located in the center of Europe, one can enjoy the relaxed, international atmosphere, culture, arts, sports and beautiful natural setting.

The cosmopolitan city of Tel Aviv is considered to be one of the world's leading startup hubs, with the highest number of startups per capita and infrastructure enabling access to funds, venture capital, co-working-spaces, free Wifi, etc. The Mediterranean metropolis is the economic and financial center of Israel and a global business hub. Additionally Tel Aviv owns an incredible heritage of Bauhaus architecture, with much to offer in terms of cultural life style, nightlife, restaurants, and incredible beaches.

Tech Connect: 10 Startups from Tel Aviv and Frankfurt Rhein-Main present groundbreaking innovations in the field of FinTech, ICT, Big Data and Cyber Security.

1 Get ready: Startups from Tel Aviv and Frankfurt Rhein-Main can apply until October 18, 2015 on this website.
2 Preselection phase: The 5 best startups from each country will be chosen by StarTAU, Pitch Club and Unibator.
3 Grand finale: The pitch contest will take place at October 27, 2015 in Frankfurt.
4 The winners are...: A prominent jury will announce the 2 best startups at the conference party.

Winners will get a one-week business stay at the Unibator FinTech Lab in Frankfurt and the Tel Aviv University Entrepreneurship Center, StarTAU.

Pitch Club FFM

The Unibator is the “innovation hot spot” of the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.The unique university incubator encourages students, staff, and alumni from all academic departments to turn their scientific discoveries into cogent business ideas, and then, into marketable products and services. Thanks to close connections with the university’s Economics Department and House of Finance, the Unibator is a magnet for startup ideas especially from the financial industry. Its numerous events and entrepreneurial activities additionally make the Unibator one of the driving forces behind the fast-growing startup community in the Frankfurt region.
